SCHOOL POLICIES

We’re committed to creating a safe, supportive space for all children, young people and vulnerable adults who attend our classes. It’s our responsibility to protect and nurture their wellbeing, and we take that seriously.

This policy outlines how we aim to do just that — by creating a positive, safe environment, responding promptly to any concerns, and supporting each individual’s growth with respect and care.

Trial Booking Policy

We offer a one-week (one session) trial for all new students. After your child’s trial, if you decide to continue, you’ll be sent our full registration form. This includes emergency contacts, medical details, and consents for GDPR and media.

Trial sessions can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund. With less than 24 hours' notice, we’re happy to reschedule. Refunds may be considered at the discretion of the studio directors.

Once registered, a one-off fee of £25 covers your enrolment admin and includes a branded Performance Hub t-shirt. You'll then set up a monthly subscription for your class.

By booking a trial, you agree to our Terms of Use, including our behaviour and zero-tolerance policies.

Fee Payment Policy

Booking a Trial Class
  1. We offer a one-session trial so your child can dip their toes in and see what they think before committing. After that first session, if you'd like to join us, we’ll send over a short registration form to gather emergency contacts, medical details and permissions. That way, we’ve got everything we need to keep them safe and smiling.

  2. Trial sessions can be cancelled up to 24 hours before for a full refund. If something comes up and you need to cancel with less notice, we’re happy to reschedule where possible. Refunds are at the discretion of our studio directors.

  3. Once you're all signed up, there’s a one-off £25 registration fee which covers your admin and a shiny new Performance Hub t-shirt. From there, you’ll be set up on a simple monthly subscription.

  4. By booking a trial, you’re agreeing to our full Terms of Use, which include our behaviour policy and safeguarding commitments.

Ongoing Payments

  1. Our regular classes run on a monthly subscription basis, paid via card. This is the easiest and most reliable way to secure your space and keep everything ticking along. Payments are taken automatically each month and your space is held as long as your subscription is active.

Please note:

  1. All fees are non-refundable.

  2. In cases of long-term illness or injury, we may be able to help. Just drop us a message — decisions are made at the directors’ discretion.

  3. Minor illness or holidays aren’t eligible for refund or credit, as your space is still held and secured.

Events, Workshops & One-Off Bookings

  1. Our one-off events (like workshops, intensives and parties) are booked separately and not included in monthly subscriptions. Each event has its own individual booking page and policy, so please always check the details before confirming your place.

  2. Some events have different cancellation/rescheduling rules depending on the format and capacity. If an event or class is cancelled or rescheduled by us, you may receive an account credit.

Important: School credit can only be used on future bookings and is non-refundable unless stated otherwise in the event’s own policy. We cannot issue cash refunds for school credit.

Classes and Attendance
  1. If a class is cancelled by us, it will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.

  2. We are not liable for cancellations due to events outside our control, such as weather or venue issues.

  3. Students must arrive and be collected on time.

  4. Children left behind will be kept safe in the building but may be unsupervised.

  5. Parents take full responsibility for their child once their class ends.

  6. Parents must drop off and collect children at the door, then leave promptly via the designated route.

Withdrawal Policy
  1. If a student chooses to leave the school, fees already paid are non-refundable.

Physical Corrections
  1. Teachers may use safe, professional physical guidance to support learning. This will always be respectful and clearly explained. Contact Jess or Grace with any questions.

ANTI-BULLYING & ZERO TOLERANCE

At The Performance Hub, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued and free to express themselves without fear of judgement or harm. Kindness, respect and community are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Commitment

We do not tolerate any form of bullying — physical, verbal, emotional or online. This includes:

  • Teasing, name-calling or mocking

  • Physical intimidation or unwanted contact

  • Deliberate exclusion or gossip

  • Online messages, comments or posts that are hurtful or threatening

We treat every concern seriously, and act promptly, fairly and supportively.

What We Do

  • We set clear expectations for behaviour at every class, workshop and event

  • We create a positive, inclusive space where students are encouraged to lift each other up

  • We speak to children regularly about kindness, teamwork and how to ask for help

  • We provide training to our staff so they know how to respond calmly and effectively

If Something Happens

If a child reports bullying or unkind behaviour — or if we observe it ourselves — we will:

  1. Listen carefully and take the report seriously

  2. Speak to all children involved to understand the full picture

  3. Contact parents if appropriate

  4. Put clear steps in place to resolve the situation and prevent it from happening again

Zero Tolerance

We have a zero tolerance policy for:

  • Aggressive behaviour from students or adults

  • Repeated unkindness, even if it’s ‘just a joke’

  • Disrespect towards staff or other students

  • Any actions that put another child’s physical or emotional safety at risk

In these cases, students may be asked to take a break from classes or be removed from the programme entirely. This decision will always be taken with care and only after communication with families.

Working Together

If you ever have concerns — no matter how small — please speak to Jess or Grace. We’re here to support every child, and we’ll always listen with compassion and care.

Uniform & Appearance

  1. Students must wear the correct uniform. One t-shirt is included in your registration. Additional items can be ordered via our online shop

Hair must be tidy and away from the face. No jewellery should be worn during class.

Lost Property
  1. Students are responsible for their belongings. Items left behind are kept for one week before being disposed of.

Watching ClassES

Parents are not permitted to watch regular classes, as it can distract students. You may be invited to watch during open sessions at the end of Autumn and Spring terms.

Photography

We occasionally take photos/videos for marketing on our site and socials. Consent is gathered via your registration form.

Parents may take photos during open classes only if all parents present give permission. Videos are not permitted for child safety and copyright reasons.

General Terms
  • The timetable may change, but we will notify you in advance.

  • Dance is a physical activity and carries risk. Participation is at your own discretion.

  • Students or parents breaching these policies may be asked to leave. No refund will be given.

  • Queries or concerns should be directed to the studio principals.

  • Our Safeguarding Policy and Risk Assessments are available on request.
